Waterford Medieval MuseumIn early 2011, Charisma Blinds were approached by Waterford City Architects Department to propose possible window blind options for some large openings requiring fully blackout blind systems. The project was technically challenging and highly demanding, however we proposed systems that we felt would be suitable for the requirements of the museum.

In 2012 Charisma Blinds(Waterford) were subcontracted by Tom O'Brien construction to supply and install blinds to the new Waterford Medieval Museum.

The project was a highly complex one, incorporating remote controlled, fully blackout blinds to large and very tall windows.

Window sizes included seven meter high openings, each covered by a single blinds but operated by a radio controlled (868Mhz) wall switch. These blinds were fitted behind concrete beams and the side channels were slotted between concrete and the timber windows, allowing for a flush finish when blinds were open.

Museum High WindowsWe also installed a seven and a half meter long, single roof-light blind built into a ceiling system to provide blackout capabilities to a presentation room at the flick of a switch. This blind required a motor at each end of the unit to pull and draw the fabric back and forth. When open the blind was totally hidden from view.

The blinds project was completed on time and on budget.

Thank you Andrew.

We are delighted with the quotation and service to date that we have received from you.

Louise L. Grannagh , Waterford

I had Charisma Blinds quote for both my parents and my own properties in the Ramsgrange area Co. Wexford. Both jobs were for blinds to all the windows throughout.

Charisma Blinds came with a strong recommendation. We found the quote very competitive and affordable. Andrew was professional and easy to do business with. Both jobs were completed with amazing craftsmanship with detail to finish. The tidiness was exemplary.

Two years on and all still work and look well. Since the blinds were fitted I have only had one occasion to call Andrew. He made an appointment and promptly rectified the problem, with no charge stating that all his work came with guarantee of satisfaction.

In this financial climate it shows the fact that quality prevails and I strongly recommend Charismas Blinds.

Hi Andrew,

I'm sending this message on behalf of my mum - you installed her blinds a few weeks ago. She says

"Excellent service from start to finish. Very friendly and efficient.  Highly recommended"

She's delighted anyway and the sunroom looks lovely.

Eadaoin, Waterford

I am extremely happy with all the black out blinds that I purchased from Charisma Blinds, they were ready in no time and at a very reasonable price, they provided a very prompt, friendly service, and  I will definitely be using there services again.

Rebecca H, Kilkenny

Thanks to Andrew and the Charisma team for a fantastic service from start to finish. My shutters are beautiful and we are delighted with them.

We will be back to you for the rest of the house very soon! I also want to say thank you for being so clean and tidy, it was an added bonus. Fast, efficient, and a great price compared to others I was quoted locally.

Thanks again, I'll be back and I'll tell all my friends!

Safety Information

Written by Super User. Posted in Uncategorised.

Safety had become of paramount importance within the window blind industry. It is now widely recognised that looped cords pose a serious threat to strangulation of young children.

If you have blinds installed with loose looped cords, take the following steps to reduce the risk.

  1.  Make sure all cords and chains are out of reach of small children. Install safety devices (available from our shops)
  2.  Keep furniture, cots, highchairs or playpens away from cords.
  3.  When purchasing new blinds discuss the safety aspects with the retailer. They are trained to explain.

Charisma Blinds always install an anti ligature fitting on all looped blinds.
